
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved a Rs 1,677 crore project to develop a civil enclave at Srinagar International Airport, expanding the terminal to 71,500 square meters over 73.18 acres. The upgraded facility will handle 2,900 passengers during peak hours, increasing annual capacity to 10 million. The project includes barracks for security personnel, expanded aircraft parking bays, and a multi-level car park. It aims to enhance connectivity, boost tourism, generate employment, and integrate Kashmir's cultural heritage in design.
