Assam's Biswanath district administration conducted an eviction drive on Sunday, clearing over 87 acres of grazing land. The drive affected more than 360 families who were allegedly encroaching on Village Grazing Reserve (VGR) land. While 68 families had approached the Gauhati High Court, the eviction proceeded for the remaining families. Some affected residents claimed they were unaware the land was designated for grazing and had occupied it for generations.
