Waterman of India Rajendra Singh has urged the Supreme Court to reconsider its November 20 ruling on the Aravalli mountain range. Singh expressed distress over the decision, which defines Aravallis based on landforms 100 meters or higher, potentially opening over 90% of the remaining area for mining and development. He argued that this ruling fragments the ecosystem and could lead to the Thar Desert encroaching on Delhi. Singh emphasized the Aravalli's ecological significance, shaped over millions of years, and questioned the feasibility of demarcating it based on height alone.
