Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has dismissed speculation of discord within the ruling NDA in the state, stating that the BJP and its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) are aligned on seat-sharing. He clarified that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's upcoming visit is not for formal seat-sharing discussions, but for meetings with AGP leaders. Sarma indicated that Shah's involvement would only be sought if alliance partners fail to reach a consensus internally. He also noted that internal BJP seat-sharing talks would be handled by a small leadership group.
