The Delhi government is accelerating the construction of four major trunk drains to combat chronic waterlogging. These projects, part of an updated 'Drainage Master Plan' originally from the 1970s, aim to address issues caused by population growth and urbanization. Key areas like Kirari, Mundka, Bawana, and Nangloi in West Delhi, and parts of South Delhi along MB Road, are prioritized. The initiative seeks to provide long-term relief by improving rainwater discharge and reducing pressure on the sewerage system, with some projects expected to take around 15 months to complete.
