A new socio-political body, the Voice of Buddhist Ladakh (VBL), has formed to represent Buddhist concerns in the Union Territory's dialogue with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The VBL aims to ensure Buddhist interests are not diluted within broader consensus frameworks, particularly concerning land, environment, and cultural preservation. This group seeks to be an active stakeholder in policy discussions, liaising with various administrative bodies and existing representative groups like the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance.
