Former Union Minister K.P. Unnikrishnan Dies at 89

K.P. Unnikrishnan, former Union Minister and six-time Lok Sabha MP from Vadakara, Kerala, died at 89 while receiving treatment for age-related ailments. His political career spanned over three decades, representing Congress and its factions, including Congress (U) and Congress (S). He served as Union Minister for Surface Transport and Communications in the V.P. Singh Cabinet (1989-90), notably overseeing the evacuation of Indians during the Gulf War. Born in 1936, he began as a journalist and was educated at Madras Christian College.
