Model Code of Conduct Enforced in Tamil Nadu Districts Ahead of 2026 Assembly Elections

Following the Election Commission of India's announcement of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election schedule on March 15, 2026, the model code of conduct has come into immediate effect in districts including Virudhunagar and Tiruchi. District officials have deployed Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams, and Video Surveillance Teams to monitor election rule compliance, prevent cash violations, and remove political materials from government properties. Control rooms have been established for public complaints, and teams operate round-the-clock to ensure adherence to election regulations.
