Justice A.H.M.D Nawaz, a sitting Supreme Court judge of Sri Lanka, has petitioned the Karnataka High Court to direct Google India to remove links to alleged defamatory news reports published in 2015 and 2020 by Sri Lankan outlets Colombo Telegraph and Lankaenews. The reports, related to controversies previously quashed by Sri Lanka's Supreme Court, are claimed to harm his international reputation. The Karnataka High Court has issued notices to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Google, and scheduled further hearings for March 16, while directing notice to be served to the Sri Lankan newspapers via email.
