Bangladesh's Election Commission has approved the voter registration of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his daughter, weeks before the February 12 general election. Rahman, who returned to Bangladesh after 17 years in self-exile, will contest from his ancestral Bogura Sadar constituency. The inclusion follows his biometric enrollment and online application. However, questions have been raised by the Awami League regarding the legality of adding a new voter after the election schedule announcement and the EC's functioning on a weekend.
