The Ministry of Education has appointed Professor Amrendra Kumar Das of IIT Guwahati as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University. The committee, headed by Manipur University's Vice-Chancellor, will review previous findings and examine events leading to the current situation. The Tezpur University Vice-Chancellor has been directed to recuse himself from official duties pending the inquiry.
