Security Forces Engage Suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists in Kathua Encounter

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district engaged in a gunfight with suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists during a search operation in the Billawar area on January 13. The encounter began after terrorists fired on a patrolling team based on intelligence about their presence near the Najote forest, about 10 km from Kamadh Nallah. Reinforcements were deployed, and the operation continues amid heightened security ahead of Republic Day. No casualties have been reported so far.
