The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has resolved to support a nationwide general strike on February 12, 2026, organized by the Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions. The strike aims to demand the repeal of the four Labour Codes. CITU's decision was formalized at its 18th All India Conference in Visakhapatnam, which also saw resolutions opposing the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and advocating for the protection of public sector undertakings. International trade union support was also expressed.
