Maoist Commanders with Bounties Surrender in Odisha and Chhattisgarh Districts

In recent developments, Sukhram Markam, a Maoist commander with a 21 lakh bounty, surrendered in Odisha's Malkangiri district, handing over weapons and explosives. Separately, 12 Maoists with a combined bounty of 46 lakh surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district under the 'Poona Margem' initiative. Authorities credited improved security, development schemes, and rehabilitation policies for encouraging surrenders.
