Mizoram Ends Talks with IAF, Pursues Lengpui Airport Transfer to AAI

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the state government has ended talks with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to transfer Lengpui Airport, opting instead to negotiate with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) due to local civil society and political party preferences. Although the IAF's offer was considered more favorable, concerns about potential outsourcing by AAI led the government to seek a clause requiring prior state approval before any third-party handover. A formal valuation of airport assets is underway, with compensation expected from AAI.
