Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth Assumes Role as Indian Army Chief Amid Military Leadership Changes
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, a veteran of the Armoured Corps with over 39 years of service, has taken charge as India's 31st Chief of the Army Staff, succeeding General Upendra Dwivedi who retired after more than four decades. Seth is the first Armoured Corps officer to lead the Army since 1997 and has commanded key operational commands, including the Southern and South Western Commands. Concurrently, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit assumed the role of Vice Chief of the Air Staff. These leadership changes occur amid ongoing modernization and operational readiness efforts across the Indian armed forces.
