Shiv Sena Leader Alleges Election Commission Favors BJP Ahead of State Polls

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized the Election Commission of India, alleging it functions as an 'extended branch' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and expressing distrust from opposition parties. His remarks followed controversies over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls after Bihar Assembly elections. The Election Commission is set to announce poll schedules for upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Puducherry.
