Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Highlights Transparency and Inclusivity at CSPOC Valedictory

At the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in New Delhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that democratic institutions remain strong and relevant when they are transparent, inclusive, responsive, and accountable to citizens. He highlighted that transparency fosters public trust and inclusivity ensures marginalized voices are heard. Birla also noted the importance of parliamentary propriety and the role of presiding officers in maintaining institutional credibility. The conference concluded with Birla handing over the CSPOC chairmanship to UK House of Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle, reaffirming a collective commitment to enhance parliamentary efficiency and people-centric governance.
