Union Minister Amit Shah urged Kerala to move beyond a remittance-based economy, advocating for a more inclusive development model. Speaking in Thiruvananthapuram, Shah emphasized creating opportunities within the state, suggesting expansion in tourism, education, maritime trade, Ayurveda, spices, IT, and semiconductors. He stressed that while remittances are welcome, they alone cannot ensure development for all citizens, particularly those whose family members do not work abroad. Shah called for a comprehensive approach to foster development across the state.
