The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has directed 193 high-rise societies in Gurugram to deploy smog guns or mist sprinkling systems. This measure aims to reduce particulate matter levels, particularly PM10 and PM2.5, which are exacerbated by low wind speeds and temperature inversions. The directive mandates installation on rooftops for wider dispersion, with operation during early mornings, evenings, or when air quality deteriorates. Societies must ensure systems are operational during Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) periods, using treated water where possible.
