Election Commission Initiates Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in Andhra Pradesh and Navi Mumbai
The Election Commission of India is conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh and Navi Mumbai to ensure accurate voter lists. Andhra Pradesh's CEO Vivek Yadav outlined the schedule starting June 5, with door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers and publication of final rolls by September 22. In Navi Mumbai, voters must complete mapping with the 2002 voter list or risk removal from rolls. The exercise aims to address issues like duplicate entries and verify citizenship, involving political parties and citizens for transparency.
