Punjab Protesters Released After Opposition to Sheron Sugar Mill Land Transfer

Seventeen protesters opposing the transfer of Sheron Cooperative Sugar Mill land in Punjab were arrested and sent to Goindwal Jail. Following meetings between farmer leaders, employee unions, and Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar, bail orders were issued, and the protesters were released unconditionally. Farmers welcomed their leaders and vowed to continue opposing the land transfer and to push for the sugar mill's reopening, while the minister instructed the district administration to withdraw related cases.
