Karnataka MLA Seeks Cancellation of NICE Road Lease Over Bridge Maintenance Concerns

BJP MLA S T Somashekar has urged the Karnataka government to cancel the 30-year lease of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Limited, citing poor maintenance of bridges connecting villages to the NICE Road despite toll collections of Rs 10 crore daily. He highlighted that eight bridges in his Yeshwantpur constituency are in disrepair and that previous petitions to various governments over the past decade have not led to action. Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi stated a Cabinet sub-committee is reviewing the issues to recommend a permanent solution.
