In West Bengal, at least 40 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from Sitai block in Cooch Behar resigned, citing excessive workload and pressure during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The BLOs raised concerns about undue stress, unclear instructions, and disruption to school duties. Separately, a BLO in South 24 Parganas was hospitalized with a brain stroke, with the Trinamool Congress attributing the health issue to SIR-related stress and criticizing the Election Commission and central government. Officials have acknowledged the resignations and ongoing challenges in the SIR process.
