Telangana SIT Summons MLA Harish Rao in Illegal Phone Tapping Investigation

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Telangana has summoned Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao to appear on January 20 in connection with an alleged illegal phone tapping case involving the misuse of the Special Intelligence Branch during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime. The SIT, led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, is investigating claims that phones of senior political leaders and officials were intercepted without authorization. BRS leaders have alleged political harassment by the current Congress government, while several police officials have been arrested and later granted bail in the case.
