Madhya Pradesh Government Forms Panel to Investigate Indore Water Contamination

The Madhya Pradesh government has formed a state-level committee to investigate the water contamination incident in Indore's Bhagirathpura area. Led by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar Shukla, the panel will examine causes, administrative and technical lapses, and determine accountability. It will submit its report within one month. The government reports seven deaths linked to the outbreak, while a medical college audit suggests 15 deaths may be connected. Residents claim 24 deaths occurred. Compensation has been provided to families of 21 deceased individuals.
