Pune Authorities Remove 2,600 Illegal Hoardings in Joint Crackdown

A joint operation by the Pune Municipal Corporation and Pune City Police removed around 2,600 illegal hoardings, banners, and flex boards across Pune within four days. Initiated after concerns raised by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the drive includes deploying special night patrol teams to prevent reinstallation. Authorities have imposed a Rs 2 lakh fine per illegal hoarding, recoverable through taxes if unpaid, and are targeting installers, printers, and publishers involved in unauthorized displays.
