Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent two-day visit to Israel has strengthened bilateral relations and led to a slight delay in the migration of the Bnei Menashe community from Mizoram and Manipur to Israel. Originally planned for late February 2026, the first group of around 600 individuals is now expected to depart in early March. Bnei Menashe leader Jeremiah L. Hnamte attributed the postponement to logistical adjustments linked to the Prime Minister's diplomatic engagement. Priority for migration is reportedly given to applicants with close family already in Israel, though the final list of approved migrants is pending.
