A voice clip alleging bribery in Kerala's Wadakkanchery block panchayat election has triggered a Vigilance inquiry. The audio purportedly features an IUML-backed Independent member discussing an offer of ₹50 lakh or the post of block panchayat president from the CPI(M) for cross-voting. The Congress released the clip, leading to a complaint and preliminary investigation. The CPI(M) has been challenged to prove the audio fake and face a fresh election.
