Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor project in Assam's Nagaon district, aiming to improve connectivity between Central and Upper Assam while ensuring safe wildlife movement across Kaziranga National Park. The 86 km project includes four-laning of NH-715, a 34.5 km elevated wildlife corridor, and bypasses to reduce traffic congestion. It is designed to reduce animal-vehicle collisions, boost ecotourism, and generate local employment. Modi also flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains to enhance rail connectivity in the region.
