
The Telangana State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has decided to conduct municipal elections in February across 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations, with preparations to avoid disruptions from Ramzan and Maha Shivaratri festivals. The Cabinet also approved a 2,787 crore budget for Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion, including expedited takeover of Phase-I and accelerated land acquisition for Phase-II, pending central approval. Additionally, plans were made for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu and development of a spiritual and eco-tourism circuit along the Godavari river, with a comprehensive action plan due by March 31.
