UP BLO Dies by Suicide After Leave Denied for Daughter's Wedding

A 50-year-old Booth Level Officer (BLO), Akhilesh Savita, died by suicide in Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, after reportedly being denied leave for his daughter's wedding scheduled for March 8. A suicide note cited stress from continuous duties related to the Special Intensive Revision exercise and unheeded leave requests. The incident led to protests by family and villagers accusing officials of ignoring pleas. Authorities intervened to manage tensions, and the body was sent for postmortem examination.
