
Veteran journalist and diplomat H.K. Dua passed away at 88 after a brief illness. He held senior editorial roles at leading Indian newspapers including The Tribune, The Indian Express, The Hindustan Times, and The Times of India. Dua served as media advisor to Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and H.D. Deve Gowda, was India's ambassador to Denmark, and a nominated Rajya Sabha member from 2009 to 2015. He received the Padma Bhushan in 2008 for his contributions to journalism. Tributes highlighted his editorial independence and political insight.
