Delhi Government to Provide Free LPG Cylinder Benefit to Ration Card Holders on Holi and Diwali

The Delhi government has announced a scheme to provide free LPG cylinders to all ration card holders twice a year, on Holi and Diwali, starting this Holi on March 4, 2026. The benefit, valued at Rs 853 per cylinder, will be transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that Rs 242 crore has been allocated for this initiative, which also includes transfers for those using piped natural gas (PNG). The Diwali benefit is expected around November 8, 2026.
