
The old terminal at Chandigarh Airport, unused for passenger flights since 2015, is being repurposed into an Airport Security Training Institute with a planned security lab, according to the UT Transport Department's report to the UT Administrator's Advisory Council. The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed no plans to resume passenger services there. MP Manish Tewari had questioned the government on the terminal's underutilization and the Rs 43.86 crore spent on its renovation between 2010 and 2014.
