130 Maoists Surrender in Hyderabad; Telangana CM Appeals for Further Surrenders

On March 7, 2026, 130 Maoists, mostly from Chhattisgarh, surrendered before Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad, handing over 124 weapons including AK-47 rifles. Telangana's Director General of Police stated the state's Maoist committee has effectively vanished, weakening the group's presence. The Chief Minister urged remaining underground cadres to surrender, assuring safety and rehabilitation support. Since January 2024, over 700 Maoists have surrendered in Telangana, with the government coordinating with the Centre on rehabilitation and legal measures.
