India and Japan Coast Guards Hold 22nd Meeting to Enhance Maritime Cooperation

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Japan Coast Guard (JCG) held their 22nd High-Level Meeting in New Delhi to review and strengthen cooperation in maritime operations. Discussions covered Maritime Search and Rescue, Marine Pollution Response, Maritime Law Enforcement, capacity building, technology use, and information sharing. Both sides emphasized sharing best practices and interoperability under their Memorandum of Cooperation. Upcoming joint exercises and Japan’s participation in multilateral forums, including the Coast Guard Global Summit hosted by India, were also highlighted.
