Polish Deputy PM Discusses Russia-West Relations, Ukraine Conflict, and India-Poland Ties

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski discussed Russia's relationship with the West and the ongoing war in Ukraine at the Jaipur Literature Festival. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin initially showed willingness to align with European narratives but later chose not to join Western integration, fearing rivalry and instability. Sikorski emphasized that borders should be determined through negotiation, not military force, and welcomed India's reduction of dependence on Russian oil amid the conflict. He also expressed hope for closer India-Poland ties and progress on the EU-India Free Trade Agreement.
