Houthis Have Not Fully Entered Regional Conflict Despite Iran Ties and Limited Attacks

Iran-backed Shiite groups in Lebanon and Iraq have joined the regional conflict following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Tehran. Yemen's Houthi rebels, also allied with Iran and possessing significant missile and drone capabilities, have not fully entered the war but have intermittently targeted Red Sea shipping and launched attacks on Israel in support of Palestinians. These actions paused after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in late 2023. The Houthis continue to maintain a truce in Yemen amid ongoing regional tensions.
