On Monday, a Pakistani police armoured vehicle on patrol in Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was targeted by an improvised explosive device planted and detonated by members of a special unit linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), killing seven personnel. The attack included gunfire on officers after the blast. Officials confirmed casualties included various police ranks. Pakistan attributes such attacks to TTP operating from Afghan territory, a claim denied by Kabul amid ongoing fragile border tensions.
