Karnataka Plans Completion of Tungabhadra Dam Crest Gate Replacement by May

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that all crest gates of the Tungabhadra Dam will be replaced by May as part of a state-led modernization project. The government has completed installation of 14 gates, with work ongoing on several others. The contract, awarded to an Ahmedabad-based firm, covers 34.48 crore rupees and spans 15 months. Shivakumar also noted delays in discussions with Andhra Pradesh regarding the Navali Balancing Reservoir, emphasizing the need for cooperation among riparian states.
