Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced alternative housing in Baiyyappanahalli for families displaced by demolitions in Kogilu Layout. The decision, made on humanitarian grounds, follows concerns raised by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. The Chief Minister stated that notices had been issued to occupants of the illegally constructed houses on government land, which were built on a garbage landfill. Eligible families will be allotted houses from January 1, with officials tasked to identify them within two days. Actions will be taken to prevent future encroachments.
