
President Droupadi Murmu undertook a two-hour submarine sortie onboard INS Vaghsheer, an indigenous Kalvari-class submarine, from the Karwar naval base in Karnataka. She is the second Indian President to experience a submarine voyage, following APJ Abdul Kalam. During the sortie, Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the armed forces, interacted with the crew, witnessed operational demonstrations, and described the submarine as a symbol of the Indian Navy's professional excellence and combat readiness.
