Chandigarh plans to introduce monthly parking passes for cars at Rs 500 and for two-wheelers at Rs 250, starting mid-January 2026. This initiative, expected to generate Rs 20-25 crore annually, aims to simplify parking and boost municipal revenue. The Municipal Corporation also decided to implement its 24/7 water supply project in phases without taking loans. A recent survey indicated significant resident support for the monthly pass system.
