NIA Arrests Wanted CPI (Maoist) Cadre Chandan Kumar in Mumbai

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Chandan Kumar, a wanted member of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit, in Mumbai. Kumar, from Jehanabad, Bihar, was involved in fundraising and encouraging former cadres to rejoin the group for terrorist activities. The NIA had declared him an absconder and issued non-bailable warrants in October 2023. Investigations revealed a conspiracy to revive CPI (Maoist) in Magadh Zone through extortion, arms procurement, and training in IED-making, involving several other accused members.
