The Sri Lankan Navy apprehended 11 fishermen from Karaikal on Friday, January 2, 2026, for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) while fishing near Mullaitheevu. The fishermen, who had set out on December 29, were detained, and their fishing vessel was seized. They were taken to a Sri Lankan Navy camp for further inquiry.
