
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the formation of a Special Cell led by women officers of Additional Director General rank to trace missing women across the state. The cell's efforts have increased the tracing rate by 10% over the past year, with 55-60% of missing women found within one year and about 90% within three years. The government aims to reach a 95-96% tracing rate, conducting regular reviews and statewide search operations. Additionally, Operation Muskaan has traced over 41,000 missing children since 2015, with ongoing campaigns continuing these efforts.
