
During protests against changes to the MGNREGA scheme, Congress leaders including Haryana Opposition Leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and others were detained by Chandigarh police as hundreds of party workers marched and clashed with police near the Congress office. In the Haryana Assembly, the Congress staged a walkout protesting the alleged house arrest of its leaders, which the government denied. An adjournment motion on recruitment irregularities was accepted for discussion later.
