Om Birla Highlights Complementarity of Development and Environment at Water Conclave

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that development and environment should be viewed as complementary, not opposing forces. Speaking at the Water Transversality Global Awards Conclave 2026, he highlighted the interconnectedness of water, energy, health, and environment, advocating coordinated approaches and public participation in initiatives like "Catch the Rain" and the Jal Jeevan Mission. Birla also noted India's progress in renewable energy and stressed the role of youth, scientific methods, and global cooperation for sustainable development.
