PM Modi Reviews Progress of Bangalore Rail and Telangana Irrigation Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed two delayed mega projects during a December 31, 2025 PRAGATI meeting: the Bangalore Suburban Railway Project in Karnataka and the J Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme in Telangana. The railway project, sanctioned in 2020 with a 2023 completion target, remains incomplete with costs rising by about Rs 1,020 crore. The irrigation scheme, initiated in 2001, aims to irrigate 5.57 lakh acres and is expected to finish by 2027. PM Modi urged faster progress on both projects.
